my 14 mo old baby has had diarrhea for the last 3 days, it dont seem to get better but the doc doesnt give him anything, she says just apple juice and banana to help some, has anyone had their babies with this problem before?? if so, did u try any over the counter medications?? please help!!!
Steer clear of the juices, they have more sugar in them and can make the diarrhea worse! Go with applesauce for fiber, oatmeal and bananas help. Typically they say the B.R.A.T. diet works….Bananas, Rice, Apples and Toast. That should start to stiffen the bowel movements. You will want to keep your little one hydrated with some sort of electrolyte mix, like Pedialyte or something similar.Skip the OTC meds, your little one is pretty small yet. Try the diet for a few days and go from there. If it continues, you will want to call the Pediatrician.
sometimes after a bout of sickness or diarrhea babies can become temporarily lactose intollererant which then makes them more ill try cutting out dairy fro a few days and give him dioralyte sachets they are fluid replacement they have just right amount of sugar n salt to help also best thing to do is starve them but thats not easy with a lil one im sure apple juice will make it worse surely hope i helped
